Interview With a Rocker

Forty years ago this month, a psychedelic ditty called “Incense & Peppermints” by a group called Strawberry Alarm Clock was climbing the Billboard chart, and would soon spend a week at No. 1.

We found out earlier this year that the individual who provided lead vocals on that song, Greg Munford, lives in Arlington. He was just a teen at the time, but his efforts landed him his own slice of rock-and-roll notoriety. Pretty cool to have a number-one song the same year as people and groups like Aretha Franklin, the Beatles and Frank Sinatra.

Kristen Armstrong will have the story in an upcoming edition. It's a fun read.
